Wasgij has always asked puzzlers to think a little differently. Instead of simply copying the picture on the box, you need to use your imagination, study the clues and work out what you’re actually supposed to puzzle.
Now, Wasgij is taking that idea one step further – and handing you a magnifying glass along the way!
Wasgij Pieces of Evidence is a brand-new puzzle concept that combines everything fans love about Wasgij with a classic whodunnit murder mystery. The first case, Pieces of Evidence #1: The Last Voyage, gives you not one, but three jigsaw puzzles to solve, with clues, evidence and a mystery unfolding as you piece your way through the case.
If you love Wasgij, murder mysteries or simply a puzzle with a clever twist, this could be your next favourite puzzling project.
A New Kind of Wasgij
If you've completed a Wasgij puzzle before, you'll know the golden rule:
Don't puzzle what you see on the box!
Traditional jigsaws give you the finished image to follow. Wasgij does things differently. Depending on the series, you might have to imagine what the characters in the box image can see, predict what happens next, or discover how the scene changes over time.
Pieces of Evidence takes this familiar Wasgij formula and turns it into a full-blown criminal investigation.
For the first time, puzzlers are invited to solve a proper whodunnit, with a story told across three interconnected puzzles. Illustrated by James Alexander, The Last Voyage is packed with the colourful characters, comic details and chaotic scenes that make Wasgij puzzles so much fun to explore.

Three Puzzles. One Crime. Can You Solve It?
The mystery begins aboard a packed river cruiser belonging to Jolly Floaters Ltd. Something has clearly gone very wrong – the boat is surrounded by police tape and there's a crime to solve.
But what happened? And, more importantly, whodunnit?
You'll need to complete three different puzzles, each revealing another chapter of the story:
- 500 Piece Wasgij Original-style puzzle – use the clues to discover what the characters are looking at.
- 500 Piece Wasgij Destiny-style puzzle – uncover another moment in the story and see how events have unfolded.
- 1000 Piece Wasgij Mystery-style puzzle – piece together the finale and discover what happens next.
These aren't simply three versions of the same scene. Each puzzle takes you to a different point in the investigation, revealing more information as the story progresses.
And because this is Wasgij, you won't have a finished puzzle image sitting on the box to guide you. Observation, imagination and a little detective work are all part of the challenge.
Open the Evidence – One Envelope at a Time
One of the cleverest parts of the Pieces of Evidence concept is the presentation.
Rather than simply finding three bags of puzzle pieces inside the box, each puzzle is sealed inside its own kraft "Evidence" envelope. They're designed to be opened in order, making the experience feel like you're gradually working your way through an actual case file.
You'll also receive two clue booklets, presented as notes from Inspector Wasgij.
Study the clues. Examine the characters. Look for anything suspicious. And try not to jump to conclusions too quickly…
You're not just completing a jigsaw puzzle – you're solving a crime, one envelope at a time.

The Perfect Puzzle for Armchair Detectives
At a combined 2,000 pieces, The Last Voyage is a proper puzzling project.
This isn't necessarily one to start after lunch and expect to have packed away before dinner. Instead, it's made for settling in over a few evenings and allowing the mystery to unfold gradually.
Wasgij's busy cartoon artwork should make the detective element particularly entertaining. There are plenty of characters, expressions and tiny details to investigate as you sort through the pieces. Is something merely there for comic effect – or could it be an important clue?
It's also a great puzzle to tackle with a partner, family member or fellow puzzler. Build together, compare theories and see who correctly identifies the culprit first.
Just remember: no peeking ahead in the evidence envelopes!
Why We Think Wasgij Fans Will Love Pieces of Evidence
Wasgij has been putting a twist on traditional jigsaw puzzling for years, but Pieces of Evidence feels like a genuinely fresh evolution of the concept.
It still has the key ingredient that makes Wasgij so addictive – solving a puzzle without knowing exactly what the finished picture will look like – but now there's a larger story connecting everything together.
The combination of three puzzles, three classic Wasgij concepts, evidence envelopes, clue booklets and an overarching murder mystery turns the box into much more than a standard jigsaw. It's almost a puzzle game and jigsaw rolled into one.
